Request Cancellation

Some sellers allow users to cancel orders within the first fifteen minutes after placing an order. Check your account for a Cancel your order button:

  1. Sign in to your account at https://checkout.google.com/.
  2. Click View Order for the order you'd like to cancel.
  3. Click the Cancel your order button in the grey box.
  4. Confirm your cancellation by clicking OK.

Google cannot cancel orders on behalf of the seller. You must contact the seller to request cancellation. Sellers may or may not be able to accommodate your cancellation request, depending on their policies. Allow the seller two business days to respond with available options.

Cancelled orders are automatically refunded and cannot be reinstated. Contact the seller for details about your order cancellation and how to re-order.

Manage Cancellations for Declined Cards

If your order was cancelled because your card was declined, you'll need to provide another credit/debit card or update your existing card information before replacing your order. To update your payment information:

  1. Sign in to your account at https://checkout.google.com/.
  2. Click Edit payment methods along the left side of the page.
  3. Enter your credit/debit card details and billing address under Add a new payment method.
    • If you'd like to use this card as your default payment method, click Make this my default payment method.
  4. Click Save.

Request Mediation

If the seller has been unresponsive to your cancellation request, and you placed your order within the last 90 days, Google can mediate by contacting the seller on your behalf. File a claim with our specialists for mediation.

Orders cancelled by sellers

Sellers may cancel orders at their discretion, per their policies. Google does not have additional information about why your order was cancelled; however, if your order was cancelled by the seller, they may include a reason on the order receipt. For specifics, contact the seller directly.

It isn't possible to reinstate a cancelled order. If you'd still like to purchase the cancelled items, try Google Product Search to locate other stores offering the product.

You can help ensure future purchases process smoothly by confirming the information in your Google Checkout account is accurate. For example, ensure both the billing and shipping addresses in your Google Checkout account match the addresses on file with your card issuing bank.

Confirm Orders Cancelled by Google

Google reviews orders on a regular basis to ensure that they adhere to our Terms of Service. If your order was cancelled by Google, this will be clearly stated on your order receipt. If a seller insists that your order was cancelled by Google, you may request additional details.
