Checkout shopping cart: Why do I need to accept unsigned carts to use the Google Checkout shopping cart?

Print

Signing the contents of the cart requires a secret key. Because the cart works purely in the web browser, there isn't a good way for us to keep this key a secret. When an order is submitted without a signature, Google Checkout will include a warning message in the order notification email as well as order detail page in the your Orders Inbox.

To accept unsigned carts and begin taking orders using the Checkout shopping cart:

  1. Sign in to Google Checkout.
  2. Click the Settings tab.
  3. Click Integration.
  4. Remove the check in the box beside 'My company will only post digitally signed carts.'
  5. Click Save.

Please be sure to review your order prices for accuracy when processing orders using unsigned carts.
