Google helps Checkout merchants combat fraud in several ways, resulting in industry leading low fraud rates. To ensure that you are taking full advantage of our unique benefits, take a minute to learn more about fraud protection policies with Checkout.
Payment Guarantee Policy
The Payment Guarantee Policy offers guaranteed reimbursement to merchants for unwarranted chargebacks on eligible Google Checkout transactions. Learn more about maximizing your benefits under the Payment Guarantee Policy.
Chargeback Resolution Policy
The Chargeback Resolution Policy is the basic chargeback protection available to all merchants for all Google Checkout transactions. Google will evaluate all chargebacks you receive and, whenever possible, fight them on your behalf. Your account will not be debited for the chargeback if it can be successfully disputed by Google.
Automatic fraud detection
Google employs advanced risk modeling to detect fraudulent transaction cues across Google services. Fraudulent transactions are immediately cancelled after being detected. Any active orders associated with the same fraudulent credit card will also be cancelled to protect you. Google also actively leverages external, cross-industry resources -- such as worldwide fraud blacklists -- to prevent fraudulent users from accessing Google Checkout in the first place.
Buyer information sharing
Google provides you with buyer verification information, and we encourage you to review your orders whenever necessary. You may cancel or refund an order at any time if you believe it is high risk.
