Google Checkout overview: Policies

Print

The following policies apply to all Google Checkout merchants:

  • Program policy: Requirements and guidelines that will help you provide a positive user experience for your buyers
  • Content policy: Descriptions of acceptable and unacceptable products and services
  • Privacy policy: How we treat your personal information when you use Google's products and services

You may not allow Google Checkout as a checkout option for any product that isn't allowed under our content policies.

If you're using the API, you must disable the Checkout button for the unacceptable product on your website. Doing so will inform your buyers that they may not use Google Checkout to purchase the item from you. For more information about disabling Google Checkout buttons, please review 'Google Checkout Buttons' in our Developer's Guide.

Although you may disable Checkout buttons in certain cases, you must offer Google Checkout the majority of the time on your website. Specifically, in accordance with our program policies you may not disable Checkout buttons for more than 5% of your total products and services.
