Excessive complaints: Excessive buyer complaints

Print

Although our policies are designed to help merchants minimize fraud risk, receipt of excessive chargebacks and/or buyer complaints may result in the following actions on your account.

Chargeback reserve

In the event of excessive chargebacks, your account may be subject to a reserve. We take a variety of factors into consideration before implementing a reserve, including chargeback rates, transaction behavior, and total processed GMV. The specific parameters which determine a merchant's reserve amount are based on a proprietary set of rules.

To minimize your overall chargeback rate, learn more about how to reduce chargebacks.

Ineligible payouts

In accordance with our Terms of Service, your account may be limited or become ineligible to receive payouts if you receive excessive chargebacks. Please keep in mind that all chargebacks you receive will be factored into your overall chargeback rate, even if you are not found to be financially liable for a chargeback under our Payment Guarantee Policy.
